Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Plyground collects, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.
1. Who is responsible
Wollen Studio B.V., trading as Plyground, registered in the Netherlands (KvK 42130932), is the controller of your personal data. Contact us about privacy at hello@plyground.co.
2. What we collect
- Waitlist and emails: your email address, whether you ticked the box for news and print ideas, any objects you voted for or suggested, when you signed up and when you confirmed your email.
- Account: your email address, your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google, your plan, trial dates, the printers you set up, and how many files you export.
- Designs: designs are saved on your own device. If you use features that send a design to our servers to create a file, we process it only to make that file.
- Purchases: Lemon Squeezy collects your payment details. We receive your name, email, country, plan, order number and, for Business, your company name and VAT number. We never see your card details.
- Support: what you send us when you email, including photos of prints.
- Technical data: our host keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to keep the site secure and working.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To run the waitlist and tell you when Plyground opens, which you asked for (consent).
- To send news and print ideas, only if you ticked the box (consent). You can unsubscribe from any email.
- To provide your account, trial and plan (performance of our contract with you).
- To handle payments, invoices and tax records (contract, and our legal obligations).
- To answer support requests and improve Plyground from common questions (legitimate interests).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, such as repeat free trials (legitimate interests).
4. Who helps us
We use these providers to run Plyground. Each only processes data for us under a data processing agreement, except Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller of record for its part.
- Kit (Kit.com, Inc., USA): the waitlist, the welcome and launch emails, and newsletters.
- Supabase (EU region): accounts, sign-in, plans and usage.
- Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC, a Stripe company, USA): checkout, payments, VAT and invoices, as merchant of record.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.): website hosting, servers, security and our email forwarding.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The app uses cookies or local storage that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and remember your settings. If we ever add analytics, we will use a privacy-friendly tool that does not track you across sites, and update this policy.
6. How long we keep it
- Waitlist: until 12 months after launch, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Account data: while you have an account, and deleted within 30 days after you close it.
- Purchase and invoice records: 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires.
- Support emails: up to 2 years.
- Server logs: a few days.
7. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@plyground.co and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the authority in your own country, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
8. Children
Plyground is designed to be safe for young makers. Anyone under 16 needs a parent or guardian to sign up for the waitlist or create an account for them. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16 without that permission. If you think we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people who need it, and payments are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, email you.
